How To Make Whole Grain Waffles

Ingredients
- 1cupwhole wheat pastry flour
- 1cupwhole wheat flour
- 1½tspbaking powder
- 1tspbaking soda
- ½tspsalt
- 2cupsbuttermilk
- 3eggs
- 1tbspmaple syrup,or honey
- ¼cupbutter
- ½tspcinnamon
- ½tspvanilla extract
Instructions

Mix the whole wheat pastry flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.

In a large measuring cup, whisk together the buttermilk, eggs and maple syrup.

Pour the liquid ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir just until they are mixed.

Add the melted butter, then mix well.

Pour the batter into a waffle iron until the batter reaches the edges of the iron.

Cook until crisp and golden.

Serve warm, and enjoy!
Recipe Notes
To keep the cooked waffles warm while cooking the rest of the batter, reheat the oven to 200 degrees F. Place each waffle on a rack in the oven in a single layer to keep them warm until ready to serve.
